Super Bowl champion sues over 2023 car crash, saying other driver ruined his career

Green Bay Packers cornerback Robert Rochell is taking legal action against the people he says are responsible for a 2023 car accident that caused him serious injury and stunted his career.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County, which was obtained by TMZ Sports, the 26-year-old said he was driving along the Hollywood Freeway in his $100k Mercedes GT 63 AMG in February 2023 when he was hit by a speeding vehicle.

Nearly two years later, Rochell is suing three people involved, including the alleged driver.

According to the suit, Rochell fractured his elbow, hurt his knee and head, and suffered nerve damage alongside other bumps and bruises.

Furthermore, Rochell pointed out how he was a key contributor to the LA Rams’ 2022 Super Bowl victory and the crash derailed his NFL career.

‘[Robert] played significant snaps in his rookie year and in the playoffs and Super Bowl, where he won a ring,’ the lawsuit claims.

‘Coming off of this incredibly successful rookie year, [Robert] was primed to become a major contributor on defense and perhaps even a starter.’

After the accident, Rochell says he was forced to miss the team’s offseason training and part of the training camp. He was cut by the Rams in Week 1 of the season.

Rochell claimed further that he had trouble catching on with the team after the accident before hopping around practice squads in Seattle, Carolina, and Green Bay.

‘[Rochell] lost millions of dollars of earnings and substantial momentum in his NFL career,’ the lawsuit states.

The fourth-round pick is suing for recovery of lost wages and ‘loss of earning capacity.’

Rochell, who tallied 2 tackles for Green Bay this past season, did not specify the amount he seeks in the case.
