NFL fans unload on 'abysmal' NFL Honors ceremony: 'I don't know how they can air this with pride'

The verdict is in from football fans about the NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday night and the reviews are terrible, with many wondering how much effort was put into the show.

The NFL Honors emanated from the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans with Snoop Dogg as the host.

The musician did a monologue where some of his punchlines did not connect like the jabs of last year’s host, comedian Keegan-Michael Key.

The drawn-out ceremony is one of the only of its kind, as other professional sports leagues reveal their end-of-season-award winners in a press release.

Although some were excited to see Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld holding hands and kissing in a rare public appearance together, that did not do much to make the ceremony any smoother.

Here’s a collection of NFL fans’ messages about the award show.

‘The quality of this NFL Honors is absolutely abysmal I don’t know how they can air this with pride,’ one person stated.

‘Producer of the NFL Honors did a s****y job tonight. Had Myles Garret name up instead of Surtain. Never actually corrected it. Had people exiting stage walking right thru interviews. Then ҒUCҜed over the surprise for Eric Allen HOF nod!’ one NFL fan said.

‘Snoop Dogg should never host an Awards show again!!’ someone else posted with a GIF of Denzel Washington.

‘This has to be THEE worst produced NFL Honors ever Good Lord,’ a fourth more said.

‘This Snoop opening for NFL honors is cringy…. These jokes are whiffing big time,’ a gridiron fan said.

‘Nfl honors so cringe just announce the winners,’ one more fan concluded.

Allen did take home the night’s top prize by winning NFL MVP narrowly over Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

One bright spot from fans was Snoop Dogg’s joke to end his monologue, which made fun of former NFL head coach Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, who were in attendance.

Next year’s Super Bowl is set to be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the 49ers.

It’s unclear, if not unlikely, that any of the fan backlash will stop next year’s ceremony from taking place.

The NFL could look into having a proper comedian in future years though to host instead of a rapper.
