The biggest annual event in American sports will make a highly-anticipated return this weekend with Super Bowl LIX bringing a blockbuster showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. 

While Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs will be hoping to bag a historic third successive Lombardi Trophy, Jalen Hurts’ Eagles are looking for a first тιтle since 2018. 

It is an event that will be watched by millions across the globe – not just being of interest to viewers in the United States. 

How can the Super Bowl be watched in the UK and who will be providing commentary for the occasion? 

Here, Mail Sport looks all the key coverage details you need to know for the BIg Game on Sunday night.

How to watch the Super Bowl

In the UK, the game will be available to watch on both paid and terrestrial television services as it will be shown by Sky Sports and ITV.

In the United States, the game will be shown live on Fox Sports, with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady in the booth.

While ITV’s coverage – presented by Craig Doyle, former NFL player Jason Bell and two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umenyiora – starts at the later time of 10:45pm on Sunday February 9, Sky will begin pre-match build-up from 2pm on the day.

Long-time NFL presenter Neil Reynolds will be joined by ex-NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, former Super Bowl winner Ndamukong Suh and Phoebe Schecter in New Orleans. 

When does it kick off? 

While the game is known as Super Sunday in the US, the game is in fact scheduled to kick off at around 12:30am in the UK, going well into the early hours of Monday morning.

Back Stateside, kick-off will take place at around 6:30pm Eastern Time (3:30pm Pacific Time). 

In Australia, the clash will commence at both 10:30am in Melbourne and Sydney, 10am in Adelaide, 9:30am in Brisbane, and the earlier time of 7:30am in Perth.
