Hailee Steinfeld ‘still recovering’ after Josh Allen engagement

Hailee Steinfeld is still in awe following her November engagement to Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

During a recent interview with “Access Hollywood,” the 28-year-old actress spoke about the dreamy proposal from the MVP candidate, also 28, and the warm reception she’s received from the city of Buffalo.

“I’m still recovering,” Steinfeld began. “[Allen] kept that one [secret] real close.”

Allen, whose seventh season with the Bills concluded in January following an AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs, popped the question to Steinfeld during the team’s bye week last fall.

The former first-round pick revealed in December he was terrified about spoiling the surprise for the “Hawkeye” star.

“I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal,” Allen shared in a Q&A as part of Steinfeld’s Beau Society newsletter.

“It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Multiple times throughout the day, a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”

Since her romance with Allen began in the spring of 2023, Steinfeld has become one with Bills Mafia, even taking in playoff games with fellow Buffalo WAGs.

“It’s so overwhelming how the city of Buffalo has embraced me, I’m so grateful,” Steinfeld told “Access Hollywood.” “That is the most incredible place I love it so much, and the people in it are part of the main reason it is so special.”

It was a stellar season for Allen, who threw for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and a career-low six interceptions in 17 games.

The three-time Pro Bowler previously credited Steinfeld for his MVP-caliber season.

“She’s been a huge part. The morale, the support. When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best,” Allen told The ᴀssociated Press in December.

Allen could potentially win his first MVP award Thursday at the 2025 NFL Honors.

He faces tough compeтιтion in Lions quarterback Jared Goff, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, the reigning league MVP.
