While Harrison Butker’s name is often met with raised eyebrows, Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt claims his influence affects teammates, such as Patrick Mahomes, greatly.
Kansas City’s placekicker drew negative attention to himself last offseason after delivering a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College.
During his address, Butker said the women receiving their degrees were most likely more excited to get married and have children.
Furthermore, he slammed US President Joe Biden for his stance on abortion and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and after Catholic leaders who he said were ‘pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America.’
Speaking on Outkick’s ‘Gaines for Girls’ podcast, Hunt spoke highly of Butker despite his controversial stance.
‘Harrison is an amazing guy, and the most kind, genuine person. He is an awesome family man, they’re so sweet and precious,’ Hunt told Riley Gaines.

‘I think what’s been really cool to see this year, especially, is that it’s such a sense of iron sharpening iron.’
‘Harrison and his boldness in his faith encourages other guys to be bold in their faith,’ she continued. ‘You’ve seen Patrick be so bold in his faith and thanking God right off the bat when we won the AFC Championship.
‘Boldness empowers boldness, and it’s just so refreshing to see, and I think he’s such a light to everybody around him.’
Days before the Super Bowl, Butker doubled down on his remarks from last year, saying, ‘God has given me this platform and I’m going to say what I believe to be true and what I hold close to my heart.’
‘Anything that comes, I’m blessed to be on the Chiefs and be in another Super Bowl.’
After his controversial speech, Butker’s jersey briefly became the highest-selling among the Chiefs.
Butker agreed to a four-year, $25.6m deal with the Chiefs before the 2024 season, the richest contract given to a kicker.
He has since given the Chiefs their money’s worth, completing all but two of his 31 extra-point attempts (went 38-for-38 in 2023) and going 21-for-25 on field goal tries.
