The celebrations continue for Saquon Barkley.
The star Eagles running back is engaged to longtime girlfriend Anna Congdon, Barkley told People in a recent interview published Sunday, one week before facing the Chiefs in Super Bowl 2025.
Barkley, 27, and Congdon met at Penn State, where he played from 2015-’17, and are parents to daughter Jada and son Saquon Jr.
The Giants’ second-overall pick in 2018, Barkley spent the first six years of his NFL career in New York, where he reached the postseason once.
He joined the Eagles in free agency last March, agreeing to a three-year, $37.75 million deal with $26 million guaranteed.
Barkley has had an explosive first season in Philadelphia, where he became the ninth running back to surpᴀss 2,000 yards in a year, finishing the regular season at 2,005 yards.
He’s coming off a three-touchdown performance in last Sunday’s NFC Championship game, clinching his first-ever Super Bowl berth with the 55-23 win over the Commanders.
Barkley took in the career milestone with Congdon and their children, who joined him for the confetti celebrations at Lincoln Financial Field.
“If I could wrap my arms around this memory, I would…,” Congdon gushed on Instagram last week.
The Eagles are looking to get their Super Bowl revenge on the Chiefs following 2023’s crushing 38-35 loss.
Unlike two years ago, the Eagles now have Barkley on their roster.
“The goal wasn’t just getting there, the goal is to win, and we’re going to celebrate and enjoy this, get right back to work,” Barkley said postgame last Sunday.
Barkley has praised Congdon for her unwavering support.
“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her,” he told People. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”
Super Bowl 2025 kicks off at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans next Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
