Colombiana is a 2011 French-English-language action thriller film co-written and produced by Luc Besson and directed by Olivier Megaton. The term “Colombiana” means “woman from Colombia.” The film is about Cataleya (named after a genus of orchids), a nine-year-old Colombian girl whose family is murdered by a drug lord. Fifteen years later, Cataleya, now an adult, seeks revenge.
