Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd announces shock career move: 'Time to be a better husband'

Colin Cowherd has announced he is moving his daily Fox Sports talk show from Los Angeles to Chicago later this year.

Cowherd, who has spent the last decade in LA after relocating from Bristol, Connecticut in 2015, dropped the big news while speaking with Fox colleague Nick Wright on the latest episode of his YouTube podcast.

‘You know I’m moving to Chicago in the spring,’ the 61-year-old told Wright. It’s official. I’ve bought a house.’

When asked if it was the first time he was revealing the news to the public, Cowherd continued: ‘I don’t think they care because when you watch me on TV, you don’t care where I’m at do ya?’

The veteran sports commentator explained that he will spend ’85 percent’ of his time in the Illinois state and host ‘The Herd’ from the Big Ten Network studios near the Chicago River so that his wife Ann, whom he married in 2010, can be closer to her sister.

‘My wife has given a lot to my career and sacrifice,’ he added. ‘I love the city, she’s got her sister there, I’ve got a lot of friends there… and I think it’s just time to be a better guy, be a better husband.

‘I’ve bounced all over the country, and there’s some advantages and disadvantages to it, but I’m so excited to live in the Midwest, to live in a great city next to cousins.

‘I’m fired up, and my son wants to go to Northwestern here in a couple years maybe.’

As well as presenting, Cowherd will also continue to own and operate his independent media business, The Volume, which hosts ‘The Draymond Green Show’ and Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ as well as his own podcast.

Last year, he claimed The Volume is now worth over $100million seven years after its launch.

Cowherd was recently declared the unlikely winner after a bombshell lawsuit was filed by an ex-Fox Sports employee against a number of the network’s biggest names.

Former hair stylist Noushin Faraji described him as ‘professional and respectful to her and their coworkers’, which came in stark contrast to several former and current colleagues accused of Sєxual harᴀssment and discouraging her from speaking out.
