Shedeur Sanders drops potential Giants NFL draft hint as rumors swirl

Shedeur Sanders sure knows how to sprinkle bread crumbs.

The Colorado quarterback and projected top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft may have dropped a Giant hint about which team could be drafting him while being interviewed inside the Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

“Being in this stadium is definitely fun,” Sanders said Thursday at the East-West Shrine Bowl. “I know I’ll play here very soon against the Cowboys.”

Sanders grinned like a cheshire cat during the aforementioned quote and put some extra emphasis on the “against the Cowboys” part, which raised some antennas.

His remarks naturally leave one to wonder which team picking near the draft is a lock to play the Cowboys next year in Arlington.

Oh, it just so happens the Giants, who need a quarterback, have a yearly trip.

The тιтans, owners of the No. 1 pick who are looking for a generational talent, only venture to the Lone Star state to play the AFC South rival Texans.

The Browns pick second but could be a team that some wonder would be on the “no” list for father and Colorado coach Deion Sanders. They also do not play at the Cowboys.

Even the Raiders, who some have linked to Shedeur after Deion told ex-coach Antonio Pierce to draft his sons, don’t have to head to Jerry World.

Making these comments even more interesting is they come after Sanders met with Giants brᴀss during the lead-up the Shine Bowl.

A video circulated showing Sanders in a lobby talking with head coach Brian Daboll, general manager Joe Schoen, ᴀssistant general manager Brandon Brown and executive Dennis Hickey.

It was very exciting, and we have a great relationship,” Sanders said of meeting with the Giants, according to CBS. “They definitely showed up plenty of times even to practice. Just seeing the logos and seeing the scouts, it’s very exciting.”

Back when the Giants were set up for the No. 1 pick, Sanders had Giants-themed cleats for his final collegiate game in the Alamo Bowl.

The Giants beat the Colts the next day, which factored into why they will pick third.

Schoen praised Sanders earlier this week.

“He’s a great kid,’’ Schoen said, “Really good personality. Football smart.

“It was good getting the meeting. He’s had a really good career in Colorado, and obviously, look forward to getting to know all those guys the rest of the process.’’

The great caveat here is that there’s no guarantee, even if Sanders has been told the Giants will be taking him, that he will make it to Big Blue.

The тιтans say they want a generational talent, and some believe that’s Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter, but they need a quarterback since Will Levis has been shaky at best through two seasons.

The Browns need to find a quarterback of the future and will have a chance to draft either Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward — or both if the тιтans don’t take a quarterback.

It’s possible Sanders is gone by No. 3 or a scenario could unfold where the Giants have to decide between Sanders and Hunter or Carter, with the latter two being ranked higher by ESPN’s Mel Kiper.

If the Giants do take Sanders, though, he will have that chance to play in Dallas “very soon.”
