Bills star James Cook gives expletive-laden verdict on Chiefs refereeing controversy after AFC Championship loss

James Cook’s expletive-laden verdict on the recent Kansas City Chiefs refereeing controversy did not come with anger.

Instead, he took the onus on being a professional and putting him and his Buffalo Bills teammates in the best position possible to win every football game.

Many have believed that the Chiefs have received impartial treatment from NFL officials during their recent string of wins.

Now Cook has spoken out after Kansas City narrowly ended the Bills season last Sunday.

I’m gong to give you the realest answer I can ever give you,’ Cook said on ‘Kickin It With Dee’. ‘As a man, f**k that ref s**t. You’ve gotta come in there, ready to go, ready to play. Don’t give a ref nothing to call.’

The Chiefs defeated the Bills 32-29 to reach their third straight Super Bowl and will face the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a close playoff game, razor-thin margins put stress on every call, with many looking for favoritism towards the Chiefs after who the Divisional round against the Texans played out.

Three controversial plays involving quarterback Patrick Mahomes were the lasting image from that game.

One resulted in a penalty to Will Anderson Jr. after he hit Mahomes in the upper chest and face mask.

Another penalty was given to Henry To’o To’o after he and a Houston teammate hit Mahomes while he slid with little time to avoid contact.

Mahomes also appeared to embellish contact on a fourth-quarter play as well, without any of the yellow laundry hitting the turf.

Yet, with Cook, showing up and doing your job is more important than anything the referees can do.
