Star pᴀss rusher Mike Green leaves Senior Bowl early after viral moment builds NFL draft hype

NFL scouts got a taste of Mike Green’s potential at the Senior Bowl after an incredible highlight went viral on social media, but there will be no more freebies.

The Marshall outside linebacker/pᴀss rusher, who is currently rated No. 3 at his position according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper, has left the Senior Bowl after he showed off his explosiveness on Wednesday.

He will now miss Thursday’s practice and Saturday’s all-star game as he prepares for the 2025 NFL Draft, although his stock undoubtedly rose this week.

Green, Pro Football Focus’ highest-rated defensive college football player, ran through the draft’s No. 4 rated offensive tackle, Oregon’s Josh Conerly, in a one-on-one blocking drill that turned several heads.

The Marshall product is 6-4, 248 pounds and runs a 4.57 40-yard dash.

He ran through the 6-4, 315-pound Conerly, forcing him off his feet in a play you don’t see often on a football field.

The former wrestler-turned-pᴀss rusher led the nation with 17 sacks and had an incredible 51 quarterback pressures after transferring from Virginia and playing for the Thundering Herd last season.

Green had garnered some comparisons to Giants pᴀss rusher Brian Burns.

With Green leaving, anyone who wants to get another glimpse will need to see him at Marshall’s Pro Day or the NFL Scouting Combine.

Green is not the only player leaving the Senior Bowl early after showing off their talents.

Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos (No. 8 cornerback) and Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart (No. 21 overall) also left the all-star event.
