Andy Reid reveals what Travis Kelce hates most about Chiefs games

Andy Reid revealed one of Travis Kelce’s pet peeves in games as the Kansas City Chiefs gear up for their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.

In a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Reid raved about Kelce’s improvement despite seeing a dip in his numbers this past season.

McAfee and his crew brought up how fans criticize Kelce amid a supposed decline from his glory days with the Chiefs.

In response, Reid noted how Kelce has a better cast around him and noted how he hates getting taken out of the game.

‘Listen, he’s a great player and he’s got guys around him that are a little bit healthier,’ Reid said. ‘These defensive coordinators, their whole focus isn’t just on stopping Trav so it frees him up a bit.’

‘He hasn’t changed anything from before, he can still do all the same things and keeps himself in great shape – never once missed a rep in practice. [He] hates coming out of the game,’ he continued.

‘I love that part of him. He’s been one of our team captains. Been voted that the last how many ever years and just does a great all-around job there.’

Kelce’s hatred for getting taken off was on full display at the Super Bowl in February when he blew up on Reid on the sidelines after getting taken out.

He later explained his meltdown and noted how yelling at his coach was ‘unacceptable.’

‘It’s definitely unacceptable, and I immediately wish I would have took it back,’ Kelce said on the New Heights podcast after the Chiefs secured their second straight тιтle over the 49ers.

‘Coach Reid actually came right up to me after that and didn’t even have harsh words for me … and he just let me know: ‘Hey man, I love your pᴀssion. I got cameras on me all over the place, man,” Kelce recalled.

Kelce said he talked to Reid about the scuffle — ‘and we kind of chuckled about it.’

After a slow regular season, Kelce switched on in Kansas City’s divisional playoff game against the Texans, receiving an all-important touchdown to seal the 23-14 win.

After routing the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game, the Chiefs could become the first team to three-peat when they face the Philadelphia Eagles for football supremacy on February 9.
