Patrick Mahomes’ dad claims X was hacked as he lands in another pre-Super Bowl controversy

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is again in H๏τ water as the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl 2025, but this time, he’s denying a cheeky comment.

After pleading guilty to his third DWI just before last year’s Super Bowl, Mahomes Sr., the father of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is claiming that his X account has been hacked following a tongue-in-cheek remark regarding the Buffalo Bills.

“Today is a great day to not be from Buffalo,” Mahomes Sr.’s X account still reads after the Chiefs defeated the Bills again in the AFC Championship on Sunday.

He took to his Instagram account to say that his X account was hacked and that any posts that were being made were not his.

“Haven’t been on Twitter/X in years,” Mahomes Sr. said on Instagram. “My account was hacked and I do not have access to it. Pls disregard any tweets from @pmahomes.”

He added in a comment to his Instagram story, “Sorry for the misunderstanding. Would never.”

In a statement posted on the Instagram account, he added an official statement.

“Attention: Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s X account has been compromised. The Mahomes family holds the utmost respect for the Buffalo Bills organization and the #BillsMafia fan base. We are actively working to resolve this issue. Thank you for your understanding.”

The account has been active since June 2024 after having been on a hiatus from posts dating back to Christmas Day in 2022.

If he has been hacked, it was not clear based on the six posts that the account has made since June.

The account pays homage to the late Willie Mays while also referring back to Mahomes’ time as a baseball player, posting pictures of himself in a Twins jersey with his baby, now-superstar son, Patrick.

The erratic behavior of Mahomes Sr. has gone on for several years, as he served 10 days of jail time during the NFL season for his third DWI.

Mahomes Sr. was reportedly six months sober since his DWI arrest, although he was arrested again in Tyler, Texas for driving with an invalid driver’s license in July.
