Eagles get clarity on key lineman’s Super Bowl 2025 availability

Eagles get clarity on key lineman’s Super Bowl 2025 availability

The Eagles appear to be getting some offensive line help back ahead of Super Bowl 2025.

Left guard Landon Dickerson, who left Sunday’s NFC Championship game with a knee injury, is expected to play when Philadelphia travels to New Orleans next Sunday to take on the Chiefs, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported on Tuesday.

The Dickerson news comes after center Cam Jurgens, who played limited snaps with a back injury against the Commanders, said he would “be great for the Super Bowl” after Sunday’s game.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni stopped short of saying the pair would be available on Feb. 9 but praised the blockers’ “relentless effort” to take the field through injuries on Tuesday.

“I know that these are guys are doing everything they can do,” Sirianni said. “I can’t tell you how much I respect what they go through and what they put their bodies through to play this game that we love. Yeah, just got so much respect for that and just, I mean, toughness is a characteristic that I value so much in life and in football. And we’ve got a tough team. And these guys, the guys you’re asking about, they’re tough as heck. So you can go a long way with toughness.”

Dickerson, a three-time Pro Bowler, started at center in place of Jurgens on Sunday while backup offensive lineman Tyler Steen started at guard.

Both players are key parts of a dominant Eagles offensive line that’s considered one of the top, if not the best, in the NFL.

Jurgens, who made his first Pro Bowl team this season after taking over for longtime Eagle Jason Kelce, plays a critical role in Philly’s infamous “Tush Push,” a virtually unstoppable quarterback sneak play with Jalen Hurts in short-yardage situations.
