How Kendrick Lamar plans to troll bitter rival Drake in Super Bowl half-time show

Kendrick Lamar plans to perform his hit Drake diss ‘Not Like Us’ when he takes the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show.

The song – which accuses Drake of being a pedophile – became a viral sensation over the summer as the two artists sparred.

And despite Drake recently suing his and Lamar’s record label, Universal Music Group, over the song, sources close to the artist insist he will nonetheless perform the track in New Orleans.

‘He won’t back down,’ one of the sources told The US Sun.

‘He doesn’t care about what Drake says or what he thinks about the song; it’s a hit. Kendrick won’t be silenced or shut down.’

The sources added that Lamar has been advised by some to avoid performing the song at the Superdome.

However, The U.S. Sun added that Drake has no legal basis to stop Lamar from performing the track.

In the federal defamation lawsuit filed earlier this month, the Canadian rapper sued Universal Music Group for spreading the ‘false and malicious narrative’ that he is a pedophile, TMZ initially reported.

Drake says in court documents that UMG knew Lamar’s diss track would include lyrics and images in a music video that referred to him as a pedophile.

He also accused UMG of allowing the ‘inflammatory and shocking allegations’ because the song was a ‘gold mine’ for the company.

The lawsuit, which is not against Lamar himself, also claims that UMG paid a third party to use bots to increase the song’s streams by at least 30million.

Drake even mentioned the Super Bowl halftime performance in the lawsuit, claiming UMG wanted Kendrick to get the mᴀssive gig so the song could be platformed on ‘one of the most significant (and viewed) cultural events of the year.’

Drake also said the song put him in danger, as his security guard was sH๏τ outside his home in May.

In response to Drake’s lawsuit, UMG slammed the notion that it would actively try to sabotage one of its own artists.

‘Not only are these claims untrue, but the notion that we would seek to harm the reputation of any artist — let alone Drake — is illogical,’ they said.

Lamar’s Super Bowl performance will take place on February 9.

Super Bowl LIX will feature the Chiefs representing the AFC and the Eagles representing the NFC.
