Earlier in the season, Bills fans had resorted to shocking measures to mock Mahomes before Buffalo’s regular-season 30-21 win over the reigning Super Bowl champions at Orchard Park.

Member of Bills Mafia had strung up a Kermit the Frog doll – the iconic Muppets character that Mahomes has frequently claimed to resemble due to his voice – in his No. 15 jersey and signature mop of curls.

But after sending the Bills packing, Mahomes had the perfect response to their fanbase’s antics.

The three-time Super Bowl winner toasted the Chiefs’ championship win with a post on X, writing: ‘I’ll see y’all in New Orleans.’

He followed it up with the infamous GIF of Kermit sipping a cup of tea, referencing his link to the Muppets character.

Meanwhile, his wife Brittany, who gave birth to their third baby earlier this month, also took the chance to seek revenge on the Bills.

The mother-of-three shared the pH๏τo of Mahomes-version of Kermit being hung up to her Instagram story, adding: ‘Do we remember this Buffalo?

‘Absolutely disgusting… So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.’

Mahomes’ wife Brittany also hit back at the ‘disgusting’ gesture after the Chiefs’ revenge

The gesture from Bills fans caused controversy earlier in the season after many on social media were left shocked at the doll being strung up by a rope around its neck.

At the time, some NFL fans claimed there was an implied racism of the gesture due to Mahomes’ race with some suggesting it was reminiscent of the lynching of black people in American history.

Mahomes celebrated reaching the Super Bowl with his nearest and dearest on Sunday night – just days after his grandfather was moved into a hospice.

It has been a tough few days for the Mahomes family, with the news about his maternal grandfather’s health arriving just days before the Chiefs fought it out with the Bills for a place in the Super Bowl.
