Eagles fan’s attempt to fly fails miserably during wild NFC Championship celebrations

One Eagles fan took the “Fly Eagles Fly” chant a bit too seriously after the Birds punched their ticket to Super Bowl 2025 on Sunday.

After climbing a pole right outside the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia’s Center City, a fan wearing a No. 5 Eagles jersey hung from a flag that ripped and dropped to the ground, as seen in a video on social media.

Eagles fans swarmed the streets — danced on cars and climbed light poles — after Philadelphia steamrolled the Commanders in the NFC Championship game, 55-23, at Lincoln Financial Field.

The man crashed into a crowd of screaming Eagles fans, who began cheering after he seemed to be OK.

He held onto a “Go Birds” flag that was attached to the pole and swung through the air before it ripped.

In the video, another man was seen clinging to the top of the pole.

People were seen filming the moment while some climbed stoplights and other structures.

The scenes in Philadelphia were straight out of an action movie after the Eagles punched their ticket to Super Bowl 2025 on Sunday — but those guys didn’t have a stunt double.

Other videos on social media showed Eagles faithful marching down Broad Street.

The Eagles are in the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons.

This time, they have star running back Saquon Barkley — who agreed to a three-year, $37.75 million deal last March after six seasons with the Giants.

It marks Barkley’s first trip to the Super Bowl after he appeared in two playoff games with New York.

The Chiefs and Eagles will meet in a Super Bowl rematch in New Orleans on Feb. 9.

Kansas City beat Philadelphia in Super Bowl 2023, 38-35.
