Terrifying moment a gun is fired as Eagles fans celebrate reaching the Super Bowl in chaotic scenes

Celebrations in Philadelphia took a terrifying turn when a gun was recklessly fired into the air following the Eagles’ victory over the Commanders.

Mayhem broke out after Saquon Barkley inspired the Eagles to a 55-23 win that ensured they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in next month’s Super Bowl.

Fans celebrating the NFC Championship win clashed with riot police after a car ploughed into a large group of people, while one supporter was stabbed outside Lincoln Financial Field.

Elsewhere, supporters flocked to the popular area of Frankford and Cottman in Northeast Philadelphia.

A viral video from the scene showed someone in the crowd raise a gun to the air and fire three sH๏τs into the sky.

That sparked screams and panic among their fellow Eagles fans. ‘That was definitely a gun,’ one could be heard saying in the clip.

According to Fox 29, police are investigating the gunfire, which was just one of a number of chaotic incidents on Sunday night.

Celebrations quickly turned sour, with footage on social media showing police pushing back against a large crowd of Eagles fans.

Several supporters could be seen protesting angrily to cops before either being pushed away or arrested.

One stunned supporter was heard shouting amid the madness: ‘We’re just celebrating a f***ing win!’

Three people were also injured after a car drove into a crowd in North Philadelphia, police confirmed.

According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, the driver struck a large group of pedestrians on North Broad and Spring Garden streets at around 9:30pm, with multiple people taken to the hospital.

An eye witness claimed the driver was seen arguing with pedestrians before the incident occurred.

‘It was a car. She was on the sidewalk. And she was arguing with some people,’ the witness told NBC Philadelphia.

‘(They) drove straight down into the crowd and hit probably at least 30 people.’

Police are treating the accident as non-intentional – despite a suspect being taken into custody.

A 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were seen arguing along 3600 South 11 Street at around 8pm, before the younger man was stabbed in the right leg, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital and placed in stable condition, while an arrest has also been made. The suspect and the victim’s idenтιтies have not been revealed by police.

Earlier in the evening, an ecstatic Eagles fan was filmed twerking on a car bonnet in wild scenes after their NFC Championship win.
