Taylor Swift might need to borrow Donna Kelce’s 50-50 Chiefs-Eagles jersey for the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

The singer joined boyfriend Travis Kelce in the celebrations on Sunday night after Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills to reach a third straight Super Bowl. 

Victory in Louisiana next month would see Kelce and the Chiefs become history makers as the first team in Super Bowl history to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy three seasons in a row.

But standing between the Chiefs and history is the Philadelphia Eagles and it is here where Swift’s loyalty might be split. 

She was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania and confirmed at a May 2023 concert – believed to be before her and Travis were serious – that she’s been a fan of the team for a while.

Swift has even explained before that her song ‘gold rush’ references her fandom of the team.

‘I have a lyric that says “With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door”‘ Swift told the audience at an Eras Tour show at Lincoln Financial Field, the home venue of the Eagles team.

‘I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles and I love the band the Eagles. But guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team,’ Swift added. 

She was also once pictured wearing an Eagles jersey in New York.

But that said, her family have embraced the Chiefs since she started dating Travis – none more so than her father, Scott.

He was known to be a huge Eagles fan before Taylor met Travis and appears to be all in on the Chiefs since then. He often wears Chiefs merch when he joins Taylor at games at Arrowhead.

And the split allegiances are something that the Kelce family know all too well.

In 2023, the Chiefs faced the Eagles while Travis’s brother Jason still played for Philadelphia.

Their mom, Donna, arrived at the game in Arizona with a 50-50 jersey to support both of her sons on the biggest stage of all.

Jason, meanwhile, said earlier this year that he would support the Eagles over his brother in the case that both teams made the Super Bowl.

Speaking on New Heights in March about the potential for both teams to make it, he said: ‘I will root for the Eagles of course because I will always be an Eagle first and foremost.

‘I will still root for Travis to have a good game because he’s my brother. 

‘But I will definitely be cheering on the Eagles in this scenario.’ 

An annoyed Travis could be heard grumbling in the background, branding Jason’s decision ‘bulls***’, before bitterly adding: ‘Well good luck to your Eagles.’
