What Lions broadcaster ‘thinks’ Aaron Glenn will decide on Aaron Rodgers’ Jets future

Will it be the Aaron and Aaron show?

With Aaron Glenn now officially returning to the Jets as the head coach, a couple of important questions will follow.

Is Commanders ᴀssistant GM Lance Newmark, who was the favorite to be paired with Glenn, still in line for the GM job?

And will Glenn and whoever the GM is opt to bring back Aaron Rodgers at quarterback?

Lions radio analyst Lomas Brown, who knows Glenn from his time as defensive coordinator in Detroit, discussed the type of player that Glenn will seek to play under him before he officially got the Jets job.

“Believe me … he wears that chip on his shoulder,” Brown, who played two seasons for the Giants, said on the “Bart & Carlin Show” on ESPN Radio on Tuesday.

“He’s going to want to come to there and carve out his idenтιтy in that city. He’s going to refuse in his mind to play second fiddle to the Giants. He’s going to want to build that and win there. He’s going to bring in the right players that feel the same way … He knows what to do, how to handle New York. He knows that environment and what he’s up against and everything.”

And in Brown’s mind, Rodgers is the type of player that fits into that mold.

“I do believe if he comes there, Aaron is still going to be your quarterback,” Brown said. “I may be wrong but I am telling you if Aaron Glenn goes there, I think Aaron Rodgers will go there.”

Glenn spent the first eight seasons of his career playing for the Jets after they drafted the cornerback in the first round in 1994.

Rodgers, 41, has said he is taking some time to think about his future and noted that any decision with the Jets would also depend on the new coach and GM.

The future Hall of Famer had a rocky first full season with the Jets as the offense finished 24th in the league in yards per game.

“I think everybody understands that it’s going to come down to (the) GM and coach and myself, and whether we all want to do a dance together — or if it’s not in the cards,” Rodgers said last week on “The Pat McAfee Show,” per NFL.com.

Rodgers threw 28 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions, but the offense went into funks at times as the team repeatedly found ways to lose close games on its way to a 5-12 season.

Rodgers’ first season in New York ended after four plays when he ruptured his Achilles in the Jets opener.

“As far as my own decision, I told them I’m going to take some time,” Rodgers said. “They haven’t even made a decision on the GM or a coach yet. Once that happens, then that’ll take us to the next step which is a conversation, I’m ᴀssuming, with whoever that individual is.”
