Bills fans praised for 'classy' gesture to Mark Andrews as Ravens star receives death threats over costly drop

Buffalo Bills fans locked arms around Ravens star Mark Andrews amid the backlash he received after Sunday night’s game.

During the Bills-Ravens showdown in the divisional playoffs, Andrews took the blame for his team’s exit with a costly drop in the dying minutes.

With Buffalo up, 27-25, in the final two minutes of the game, Lamar Jackson found Andrews at the end zone’s doorstep. After initially getting both hands on the pigskin, the тιԍнт end let the ball slip before crossing the line.

The score remained through the final whistle and Andrews began receiving death threats following his three brutal fumbles.

While he deals with the backlash, MLFootball reported that the Bills Mafia started a GoFundMe page to raise money for Andrews’ charity, which supports juveniles suffering from diabetes.

‘This is truly awesome from #BillsMafia, helping raise money for a great cause in honor of Andrews,’ the account wrote.

Mark Andrews has just 32 drops in his seven-year NFL career, with only 3 drops in 2024. He hadn’t lost a fumble since 2019—the only one recovered by the opposition in his career. He’s been Mr. Reliable for the Ravens. Shocked by what I just saw 🤯 pic.twitter.com/IQHaLGBzp4

The campaign was organized by Buffalo resident Nicholas Howard and has raised $16.6k of its $18k target at the time of this writing.

‘As many of you know Ravens TE wasn’t able to catch the the game tying 2 point conversion and upset Ravens fans,’ Howard wrote. ‘On top of that the TE has been receiving death threats and nasty comments after his performance last night.

‘We want Bills Mafia to donate to Marks charity for Juvenile diabetes. Let’s reach a goal of at least 5k. Please repost this! LINK TO DONATE WILL BE IN OUR BIO @thebuffalobrief on IG.’

Understandably, Andrews did not face the media after the gutting loss. However, his c coach and teammates had his back following the game.

Head coach John Harbaugh praised Andrews’ heart and fighting spirit, saying, ‘We wouldn’t be here without Mark Andrews.’

‘I’m proud of him just like I’m proud of all the guys,’ he added.

Jackson, who made costly mistakes himself, defended Andrews and took responsibility for the loss.

The Bills will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game on Saturday.
