Jalen Hurts coy on injury scare after going in the medical tent during Eagles win over Rams

Jalen Hurts remained coy on his injury during the Eagles’ divisional round win over the Rams, as he left his status for the NFC Championship up in the air after Sunday’s win.

Hurts suffered an apparent knee injury during the third quarter when he was sacked by a pair of Rams defenders – with his leg getting pinned underneath – and went into the medical tent to be looked at.

And while he was able to return and help Philly close out a 28-22 win, he was mum on his health after the game.

‘I’m sure I’ll get asked about it later, I don’t know if I can answer right now,’ Hurts said when NBC’s Melissa Stark asked how the injury will affect him moving forward.

‘But I’m gonna go enjoy this win with my teammates.’

Stark then asked if Hurts was okay, and the quarterback remained тιԍнт-lipped.

‘I finished the game,’ he said.

In a postgame press conference, Hurts again declined to provide specifics on the injury to reporters, though he notably returned to the game wearing a brace.

On Hurts’ first play back into the game, he was sacked for a safety and the Rams cut the hosts’ lead to just one point.

With their quarterback seemingly limited, the Eagles relied on their ground game the remainder of the contest, and Saquon Barkley came up huge with a 78-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give Philly a two-possession lead.

Hurts attempted only three pᴀsses after his injury.

Barkley later criticized the nature of tackle that led to Hurts’ injury.

‘I personally think, especially on that drive alone, there were little cheap sH๏τs going on,’ he told reporters. ‘They were tackling a certain way. But when you have two times you play us and each time we put up 250-plus, you expect that. But I think Jalen came out and was the warrior that he is, came out there and rode it out for us, and we got the win.’

Hurts now has a week to recover in time for the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders next Sunday afternoon.
