If Travis Kelce is indeed making his final playoff push, the decision will be his and not Father Time’s.
With speculation swirling that a slowed-down Kelce might be tempted to walk away whenever the Chiefs’ season ends, Playoff Travis showed up Saturday and left everyone wondering if there might be a Fountain of Youth being installed in girlfriend Taylor Swift’s renovated family-friendly Rhode Island home.
Sure, a few controversial calls that went their way — cue the conspiracy theorists — plus a couple big runs by Kareem Hunt and three missed kicks by Houston’s Ka’imi Fairbairn helped the cause, but the Chiefs ultimately fell back on their time-tested postseason formula of Patrick Mahomes finding Kelce for big plays in a 23-14 victory against the Texans in the AFC divisional round playoffs.
“Everybody was asking, ‘Where’s Travis Kelce at,’” Mahomes said in ESPN’s postgame on-field interview. “I think he showed the world where he’s at.”
