The Detroit Lions’ recruitment drive appears to have paid off after the mother of a 31-pound baby committed her son to the NFL team.
‘Dibs,’ the Lions wrote on TikTok after Madison Peltzer’s clips of her ‘chunky’ baby went viral on social media.
The mom posted a response to the team on another video, telling the Super Bowl hopefuls: ‘@Detroit Lions, give us a few years & we’re there.’
One of Peltzer’s videos gained more than 10 million views on Tiktok, where she revealed that her six-month-old boy is in the ’99th percentile for everything’ with his weight.
She previously revealed that her son is exclusively breastfed and weighed just 9lbs 2oz at birth.
After her response to the Lions went viral, NFL fans joked that Peltzer should hold the Lions to their word when the baby grows up.

‘That’s in writing that’s a contract lol,’ one said. ‘I’d frame that for proof,’ another added. ‘No take backsies!’
A third said: ‘I’d save this video and then show them as soon as he turns 18… y’all said dibs.’
The Lions finished the season with a 15-2 record and are hoping to reach the Super Bowl after losing in the NFC championship last year.
Their postseason journey begins on Saturday when they host the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
