Tyreek Hill fueled trade speculation on Thursday as he teased a road trip to the city of an NFL team.
The Dolphins receiver bombastically claimed he was ‘out’ of Miami following the team’s Week 18 loss which he quit in – though GM Chris Grier later said they’d had a ‘productive’ meeting in which the receiver did not request a trade.
On Thursday, however, Hill caught the attention of Buccaneers fans as he suggested he was travelling to Tampa.
‘3 hour drive to Tampa about to be a breeze,’ he wrote.
It’s not clear why or when Hill would be going to Tampa, and the Buccaneers will not be playing there this weekend after they were eliminated from the postseason in the wild card round.
Mail Sport has reached out to Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, for comment.
Tyreek Hill fueled trade rumors on Thursday with a cryptic post to his X account
It’s not the first time that Hill has ruffled feathers with a cryptic X post, as he wrote ‘It’s time for me to go coach’ on the platform last month.
After the Dolphins’ 32-20 loss to the Jets in the regular season finale, Hill spoke about his time in South Florida in the past tense.
‘I just gotta do what’s best for me and my family,’ Hill said. ‘If that’s here or wherever the case may be, I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro.
‘It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, bro, I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a compeтιтor to be just out there.’
Shortly after, Hill took to social media and did little to dampen the flames when he wrote: ‘Love fin nation blessing yall opened doors for the Hill family forever nothing but respect and love.’
Coach Mike McDaniel has acknowledged that Hill pulled himself out of the game in Week 18

The speedy wideout, who battled a wrist injury throughout the season, admitted to making a business decision in the regular season finale when it became clear that the Broncos would beat the Chiefs (the Dolphins needed a Broncos loss to sneak into the postseason).
Just one of those issues, man, that like you know, you look up at the scoreboard, Chiefs are down [to the Broncos] and it’s like, OK.’
Coach Mike McDaniel also said after the game that he was not informed of a new injury to Hill, and said he was told the player was ‘unavailable’ right before a drive in the second half.
‘I was not informed that it was a new injury,’ McDaniel told reporters. ‘And you know, I think at that point in time, my focus was on the players and I didn’t take the time to go and try to figure out more into that. There was guys on the field that were competing, we were trying to win a game, so my focus was there.’
Hill, 30, is under contract until 2026 with the Dolphins after signing a three-year, $90million restructured deal ahead of the 2024 season.
