Shedeur Sanders takes in Mavericks game in Dallas as Deion Sanders-Cowboys intrigue builds

Fancy seeing you in Dallas, Shedeur Sanders.

The Colorado quarterback and 2025 NFL Draft prospect sat courtside Tuesday for the Mavericks’ 118-99 home loss to the Nuggets at American Airlines Center in Dallas — one day after reports linked his father, Cowboys great Deion Sanders, to the team’s coaching vacancy after Mike McCarthy’s exit.

Shedeur unexpectedly played messenger for his father at the game after the Buffaloes coach stated on X that he wanted the blazer worn by commentator Greg Anthony, which was then delivered to the 22-year-old quarterback.

“I need that Blazer that @GregAnthony50 has on tonight on @NBAonTNT,” Sanders, 57, wrote.

Shedeur, who played his final snap for Colorado in late December, a 36-14 Alamo Bowl loss to BYU, is one of the top quarterback prospects of this year’s class, which also includes Miami’s Cam Ward and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

Even with Sanders entering his third season in Boulder, that hasn’t stopped the line of questioning about a potential leap to the pros.

“The only way I would consider is to coach my sons,” Sanders said on “GMA3” earlier this month, referencing Shedeur and Colorado safety Shilo Sanders.

Sanders’ name has been floated this NFL hiring cycle, which added a new vacancy Monday with McCarthy departing Dallas after five seasons at the helm.

The Hall of Fame cornerback, who played five seasons for the Cowboys from 1995-99, called the opening “intriguing” Monday night.

“To hear from [owner] Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” Sanders told ESPN. “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”

The Cowboys have since gotten to work on their head coaching search, with ex-Jets coach Robert Saleh expected to interview for the job.

Fellow franchise legend Jason Witten has also been linked to the post.
