Brittany Mahomes is set to be induced today, with the wife of Chiefs star Patrick yet to give birth to the couple’s third child.

Brittany’s due date was reportedly set for Sunday, and the quarterback spoke previously spoke of his desire to lock up the No. 1 seed in the AFC and earn a postseason bye with the big day fast approaching.

However, it is now officially gameweek for the Chiefs – who will host the Texans on Saturday – and Brittany is set to be induced today, as CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson previously reported.

Following their 38-0 ᴅᴇᴀᴅ-rubber loss to the Broncos in Week 18, in which Mahomes and many other starters were rested, the team was heavily delayed getting back home by inclement weather. 

After the team finally arrived back in Kansas City, Wolfson provided an update on Mahomes and his growing family.

‘No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes. He told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday,’ she wrote January 6 on X.

‘If she doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday. There was def extra motivation for Patrick to get that bye week!’

Mahomes and the Chiefs are now confirmed to be facing the Texans at 4:30ET on Saturday in the divisional round.  

On Christmas Day, he and his team faced the Steelers away from home, and Mahomes said he and Brittany would be welcoming their third child ‘any day now’ before the game. 

‘Brittany says I have been stressing her out too much this season so I got to try and not put so much stress on her through these football games and get the bye,’ he said.

Kansas City did clinch a first-round bye in that game as they comfortably beat Pittsburgh 29-10.

Brittany and Patrick’s third child will have sister Sterling, 3, and brother Bronze, 2 as their siblings.

Brittany has previously shown off her growing baby bump on social media, and wrote an early message to her third child earlier this month.

‘Hello 2025 we’re ready for you little one,’ she wrote on Instagram.

It hasn’t been a vintage season for Mahomes, as he threw for under 4,000 yards for the first time as a starter, but he and the Chiefs will nonetheless have high hopes of lifting their third straight Super Bowl.
