Steve Kerr lost his childhood home in the Pacific Palisades fire this week.
The Warriors head coach told reporters on Thursday that his mother, Ann, 90, made it out safely despite the devastating loss.
“It’s been tough. My family is fine, my mom is in good hands,” Kerr said during a press conference. “But her house is gone and I’ve been on the phone with my siblings quite a bit. Family calls, just with my mom. But she’s got a lot of support and friends, so she’s safe and sound. But that’s my hometown, and all of my friends who are from there, pretty much they’ve all lost their homes, their family homes, childhood homes.”
Steve Kerr watches during the first half of the Warriors’ 121-113 win over the Grizzlies on Jan. 4, 2025.
Kerr, whose family has lived in the home since 1969, is one of several NBA figures to be impacted by the wildfires.
Lakers head coach J.J. Redick reportedly saw his home burn down as well.
