Pete Carroll to interview with Raiders as Bill Belichick rumors swirl

Pete Carroll is a H๏τ commodity this offseason.

Count the Raiders as one of the interested parties.

Las Vegas will interview Carroll next week for their head coach position, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday night.

The former Seahawks coach interviewed with the Bears earlier in the day as he tries to get another gig in the NFL.

Carroll, 73, led Seattle for 14 seasons and won Super Bowl 2014 in a rout of the Broncos.

Nevertheless, he was removed from his post after last season and replaced with Mike Macdonald after going 9-8 in his final two years. Macdonald led the Seahawks to a 10-7 record this season, but it wasn’t enough to make the playoffs.

It’s been a busy few days for the Raiders, who fired head coach Antonio Pierce on Tuesday and stunningly ousted general manager Tom Telesco on Thursday after just one year in charge.

While it’s not yet clear who the Raiders will want to target to coach the team, Tom Brady — a part-owner of the club — recently reached out to Bill Belichick about leaving the University of North Carolina to join Vegas, according to NFL.com

Belichick was only named UNC’s coach in December, so a move to the Raiders before the season would be quite the quick flip-flop.

Nevertheless, Tar Heels general manager Michael Lombardi told “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday that Belichick is “committed” to North Carolina.

Aside from Carroll, the Raiders reportedly have interest in meeting with Lions ᴀssistants Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and former Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
