Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew, has shared prayers for the victims of the devastating wildfires ravaging the city. 

ᴅᴇᴀᴅly fires have torn through the ritzy enclave of Pacific Palisades and rapidly spread through the City of Angels, killing five and displacing thousands. 

As heroic firefighters battle hellish conditions in a struggle to contain at least five different blazes – with the largest two covering 27,000 acres – neighborhoods have been reduced to ash and rubble. 

And, as her husband’s playoff game next week lies at risk, Kelly, who resides in Hidden Hills with Stafford and their daughters, took to social media to share a heartbreaking message. 

‘These fires are truly terrifying. Praying for all the fire fighters and their loved ones,’ the mother-of-four posted to her Instagram story. ‘Yes, homes and structures are important, but never more important than a life. Please stay safe.’

In another post, she shared a video showing the devastation the blazes have left in their wake, writing: ‘Watching this over and over because it doesn’t seem real.’

The mother-of-four took to social media to share a heartbreaking message over the fires

‘These fires still rag with fire fighters working around the clock.. praying for slower winds and safety,’ she added. 

Stafford and the Rams are slated to host the Minnesota Vikings at LA’s SoFi Stadium Monday night in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. 

Despite the ᴅᴇᴀᴅly wildfires continuing to rip through the city, the team reiterated Thursday that the game will go ahead. 

The NFL has a contingency plan in place with State Farm Stadium – home of the Cardinals in Glendale, Arizona – prepared to host the matchup if need be. 

‘The safety of the Los Angeles community is our top priority, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area,’ a Rams statement read. 

‘We are grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect our city and community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need.

‘As of now, the Wild Card playoff game featuring your Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night at 5 PM PT.

‘As with all games, the NFL has contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed due to the tragic fires in our region.

The game could be yet moved to State Farm Stadium – home of the Arizona Cardinals

‘If the NFL decides a change in location is needed, the game would be played on Monday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.’ 

However, the decision to name the Arizona-based stadium as the backup venue was met with backlash from NFL fans after State Farm cancelled coverage for thousands of California homeowners 

Fans have pointed out that, in 2023, State Farm announced it would stop accepting new homeowners-insurance applications in the Golden State. Last year, the company then revealed it would stop covering 72,000 homes across California.

Stafford purchased the $28million former home of Jennifer Lopez in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hidden Hills in 2023.

The luxurious neighborhood is roughly 18 miles from the Pacific Palisades area, where one of the wildfires continues to rage. 

It is unclear if Stafford remains in the nine-bedroom mansion or if he has evacuated. However, Kelly suggested earlier in the week that she would leave the home but for non-fire related reasons. 

As she battles the flu, she and her four daughters  – twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4 – could move out of the home in order to protect the signal caller from the disease with the playoffs looming. 

‘If all my kids have the flu, I don’t think we should be in this house with him,’ she said on her Morning After podcast.
