2025 NFL Draft No. 1 overall pick odds: Cam Ward surpᴀsses Shedeur Sanders as most likely top selection

2025 NFL Draft No. 1 overall pick odds: Cam Ward surpᴀsses Shedeur Sanders as most likely top selection

Shedeur Sanders is no longer the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Colorado quarterback has been surpᴀssed by Miami’s Cam Ward as the most likely player to be the first off the board in April, according to oddsmakers at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Ward is currently -135 to be the first pick, barely edging out Sanders, who opened as the No. 1 overall pick favorite last spring and has been throughout the 2024 season, sitting at +100.

It was a much different story last week.

Just days ago, the Hurricanes quarterback was a +600 long sH๏τ to be the top pick while Sanders was sitting pretty at -145.

Ward even trailed Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback and 2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter, who has gone from +220 to +1100 to be the first player selected over the past week.

The odds movement comes after the тιтans, who struggled with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph under center this season, secured the No. 1 pick over the weekend.

The Browns and Giants, who both could be in the market for a quarterback in the draft, will pick at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Ward threw for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and just seven interceptions for a 10-3 Miami team that just barely missed out on the College Football Playoff.

Betting on the NFL?

In Colorado, Sanders had similar success, throwing for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the 9-4 Buffaloes.

As mentioned, Hunter has the third-best odds to go No. 1 should a team opt for a non-quarterback.

He’s trailed by LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell and Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, who are both +5000.
