NFL fans left stunned as Tyreek Hill embraces Antonio Brown comparisons with new X picture

Tyreek Hill is embracing comparisons to Antonio Brown after allegedly quitting on his Miami Dolphins teammates during a season-ending loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.

Hill, who has battled wrist problems this year, did not play in the fourth quarter of Miami’s loss to New York. The Dolphins needed a win and a Broncos loss over the Chiefs to sneak into the postseason, but Denver blew out Kansas City’s backups, 38-0.

Later, when asked if Hill was unavailable because of his wrist, McDaniel seemed to imply that the receiver refused to play: ‘I was informed that he was unavailable right before a drive. I was not informed that it was a new injury… There was guys on the field that were competing, we were trying to win a game.’

While Hill claimed, ‘Coach pulled me out,’ he ultimately made his feelings clear about the Dolphins by telling reporters he’s ‘out’ of Miami.

The situation is reminiscent of Brown’s with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers three years earlier. After arguing with coaches over his refusal to re-enter a game against the Jets, Brown famously quit on his teammates by removing his jersey, helmet and pads en route to the locker room. Brown has not drawn any interest from NFL teams since the incident.

Now, after being benched during Friday’s loss, Hill has changed his profile picture on X to the famed image of a shirtless Brown running off the MetLife Stadium field in January of 2022. Only instead of Brown’s scowling face, Hill had his own profile picture pH๏τoshopped on top of the former Bucs star’s.

‘So the dude is not playing another game in the NFL?’ one fan asked on X, where there was a mᴀssive response. ‘Okay.’

‘He’s a clown,’ another critic added about the former Kansas City Chiefs star. ‘Should’ve never left KC.’

Several questioned whether Hill is still attractive to NFL teams, given his behavior.

‘Is any team with a winning culture gonna look at this and be interested?’ one fan asked.

Others laughed at Hill’s nod to Brown, while many more used the post as an opportunity to recruit the All-Pro to their favorite NFL team.

Hill finished the season with 939 receiving yards, failing to hit 1,000 for the first time since 2019, as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed six games through injury.

He is under contract until 2026 with the Dolphins after signing a three-year, $90million restructured deal ahead of the 2024 season.

After that trade, Hill claimed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was more accurate than three-time NFL MVP Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, adding that he and his family would be happier in Miami than Kansas City.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was reminded of those comments on Monday.

‘Hell to the no,’ the outraged Smith said of Hill. ‘Stay your ᴀss right there.’

‘Life’s a little bit different when you ain’t with Patrick Mahomes,’ Smith continued. ‘We tried to tell you. We don’t want to hear about no family now. You got your bag. That ain’t family, bro.

Family’s the bag. Once you get the bag, family’s taken care of. This is about you recognizing that life is a little bit different when Patrick Mahomes ain’t throwing you the football.’
