Playoff spots. Draft positions. Award races. Week 18 in the NFL has it all

Week 18 is meaningless for several teams.

After locking up the No. 1 seed in the AFC, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will have two-plus weeks of rest before beginning the Chiefs’ pursuit of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. The Bills will sit their starters, as the No. 2 seed in the AFC. The Eagles will do the same as the No. 2 seed in the NFC, denying Saquon Barkley the opportunity to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record. Others (Seahawks, Cardinals, Cowboys, Colts, 49ers) are in purgatory, eliminated from playoff contention and unable to land a top 10 first-round pick.

Still, as many as 10 games this weekend could have playoff implications, while four teams remain in contention for the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
