Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe reveals he is entering 2025 NFL draft

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has announced he is leaving the Crimson Tide and will enter the 2025 NFL draft.

The 22-year-old, a redshirt junior, has been Alabama’s starting quarterback for the past two years.

But after a disappointing 2024 season, which ended with defeat by Michigan on New Year’s Eve, Milroe has decided to try his luck in next year’s draft.

He is ranked as the No 3 quarterback prospect in the 2025 class by some ESPN experts, behind Shedeur Sanders of Colorado and Cam Ward of Miami.

Milroe announced his decision through a statement in which he said ‘competing at the highest level’ has been his ‘dream’ since he was a kid.

‘First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His unwavering grace, guidance, and the countless blessings in my life,’ Milroe wrote.

‘To my family, thank you for your unconditional love and support through every high and low. You’ve been my rock, my inspiration, and the reason I push myself to be the best man I can be.

‘To my teammates, my brothers, thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve shared. The bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime.

‘To Coach Saban, thank you for believing in me and instilling the standard of excellence in me. To Coach Deboear, thank you for challenging me and helping me grow into the player and leader I am today.

‘To the entire Alabama family, thank you for embracing a kid from Texas and allowing me the honor of wearing the script “A”. Representing my university has been one of the greatest honors of my life.’

‘Football has always been my pᴀssion, and since I was a kid, I dreamed of competing at the highest level. Through every win, every tough loss, and any criticism along the way, my love and dedication to this game has never wavered.

‘Each day, my graтιтude for the opportunity to play this sport I love only grows stronger. With that said, I am declaring for the 2025 NFL draft. Roll Tide forever!’
