EXCLUSIVERevealed: The four NFL teams Aaron Rodgers would play on with next year with Jets future in limbo

Aaron Rodgers has picked out four teams he believes would be a ‘better fit’ for him than the New York Jets if he plays on for one more year in 2025, a source has told DailyMail.com.

Rodgers, 41, is enduring one of the worst seasons of his career with the Jets, who are now 4-12 after being eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago.

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback has thrown 10 interceptions in 16 appearances, the fourth-highest amount he has thrown in a single campaign across 19 years in the NFL, while being sacked 37 times – the fifth-highest total of his career. He is also on course to record his lowest number of pᴀssing yards (3,623) in a season where he has played at least 10 games.

With the Jets likely to cut their losses and release him at the end of the season, many are calling for Rodgers to hang up his cleats after almost two decades in the sport.

However, a source close to the four-time MVP has revealed he intends to go out on his own terms and play on next season, having identified four potential landing spots.

According to that insider, Rodgers is convinced that a move to either the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee тιтans or Las Vegas Raiders would make most sense in 2025.

‘Aaron wants to play again and finish his career on his own terms,’ the source said, ‘and though he has mentioned he would like to continue playing with the Jets, he would love to be released and give it another go with another team.

‘If the Jets keep him around, he will try to right the ship and give it one last go, but he believes he would be better used and be a better fit in Cleveland, Indianapolis or Tennessee, and he also would be interested in heading to Las Vegas.

‘That is where his mindset is at as he wants to play again, and he doesn’t believe that the Jets are the team that will take him to the promised land.

‘It has obviously not worked with the Jets and there is no reason to believe that it would work next year, a third year with the Jets is not going to be a charm and both the team and Aaron will likely move on from each other.’

DailyMail.com has also reached out to Rodgers’ direct representatives for comment.

All four teams he has pinpointed will be eyeing potential new quarterbacks in 2025.

The Browns are looking to move out Deshaun Watson after recently restructuring his $230million contract, while the Raiders have struggled with five different starting quarterbacks in the past three seasons.

The тιтans have rotated Will Levis and Mason Rudolph frequently to little success, and the Colts were eliminated from playoff contention at the weekend following an underwhelming season with Anthony Richardson.

Rodgers failed to throw a single touchdown pᴀss during the Jets’ 40-14 horror loss to the Buffalo Bills during Week 17.

After being shutout through three quarters at Highmark Stadium, his nightmare season hit a new low when he was replaced by backup Tyrod Taylor in the fourth quarter.

With the score 33-0 upon his exit from the game, Taylor went on to throw for two touchdowns to claw the Jets onto the scoreboard.

However, Rodgers revealed following the defeat that it wasn’t interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich’s call to bench him.

‘I mean it was 33-0, we were sitting there and I said, “At some point probably go to Tyrod [Taylor] here, huh?” Then the next play [the Bills] threw a screen for a touchdown. So it was 40-0,’ the veteran told reporters Sunday.

Rodgers was sacked four times and threw two interceptions, failing to throw a single touchdown during the mᴀssacre at Highmark.

The four sacks saw the former Super Bowl winner become the most sacked quarterback in NFL history with 568 times in 247 career games, according to Fox News. His total tallies three more than Tom Brady, who was sacked 565 times throughout his career.

Frank Tarkenton holds the unofficial record as he played before the NFL began officially counting the stat in 1982.
