Revealing images inside the mysterious tomb of ancient Egypt’s most famous Pharaoh

Images inside the mysterious tomb of ancient Egypt’s most famous Pharaoh Tutankhamun have just been introduced to the public.

Images of the mummified face and feet of Pharaoh Tutankhamun have been revealed to the public after nine years of restoration work by scientists.

After nearly a decade of hard work, conservationists in ancient Egypt have completed the restoration of the tomb of the famous Pharaoh, also known by his more familiar name King Tut. The latest image of the tomb has just been shared, leaving many visitors amazed

King Tut’s body, wrapped in linen, is on display in a humidity-controlled glᴀss case in his underground tomb. The tomb is located in the Valley of the Kings, on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor in southern Egypt.

The team also cleaned the tomb’s artwork. Some of the original items still remain, including Tutankhamun’s mummy, a quartzite sarcophagus with a granite lid on the floor next to it, a gilded wooden coffin, and wall paintings from the chamber depicting the life and death of the king.

“Preservation is important for the future and to leave this great legacy and civilization alive forever,” said Zahi Hawᴀss, an Egyptologist and former minister of antiquities in Egypt.

In the 1980s, King Tut’s tomb was considered the most popular tourist destination in Egypt, with about 4,000 visitors visiting the site every day. In 2009, the Getty Conservation Insтιтute cooperated with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities to conduct conservation activities for this historically valuable tomb.

Tutankhamun is considered the most famous Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, but not because of his achievements through battles like many other Pharaohs, but because of other important historical reasons

Tutankhamun was a Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty (around 1567-1202 BC). Scientists estimate that he died around 1352 BC, when he was not yet 18 years old. Thus, he only ruled the country for 9 years.

This Pharaoh is often called by his more popular name, King Tut. To this day, his death is still considered an unsolved mystery to posterity. After excavating King Tut’s tomb, scientists found many important events related to his death

Many people believe that Tutankhamun’s death at such a young age was unusual, especially because of the cracks in his skull and thigh bones. His wife also married the next Pharaoh shortly after his death. Archaeologists also believe that King Tut’s death was one of the ᴀssᴀssinations in human history.

The excavation of King Tut’s tomb took place in 1922 – the beginning of the last century, lasting 15 years. This created a worldwide earthquake when it aroused public interest in ancient Egypt. The excavation team led by British archaeologist Howard Carter found the tomb containing the mummy and 4 rooms with more than 600 of the king’s possessions.
