Bros star Matt Goss has admitted he’s ‘not talking’ to his brother Luke and compared their rift to Noel and Liam Gallagher’s before swiping ‘I’ve tried my best but we’re dysfunctional’.
On Friday’s Lorraine, the 80s pop star sat down with stand-in host Ranvir Singh as he prepares to leave his 10-year Vegas residency to embark on a UK tour.
Reflecting on the highs and lows of his success, Matt, 56, revealed details of his complicated relationship with his twin brother, Luke.
Bros got together in 1986 with Matt as the frontman, Luke on drums and their friend Craig Logan on bᴀss – who left the band in 1989 to become a songwriter.
They sold an estimated 16 million records, but things turned sour in 1992 as their fame began to wane and Luke, the drummer, decided he’d had enough of feeling second best.
It was clear that gaining so much fame in such a short amount of time had taken its toll on the brothers, both personally and professionally.

In 2017, they put their rift aside and reunited for two concerts at London’s O2 with a camera crew following them around for their documentary Bros: After the Screaming Stops.
Discussing the reaction he received from their documentary Matt said: ‘It was difficult to watch it, because it was so dysfunctional in many ways.
‘But what happened afterwards, I realised that people would come up to me, and fellas would come up to me and say, “We are dysfunctional as well.”
‘There is a lot of dysfunction in family. In many ways we find comfort from friends because family have that ability to go a little bit too far sometimes and they know the ʙuттons to press…
‘I feel like now I have a whole philosophy within myself that if I do my best, and I know that I can look at myself and say I’ve tried my best… if that doesn’t work, then that’s okay. I have to live my own life as well.’

Responding to Ranvir asking if his feelings are more sadness rather than resentment and anger, Matt said: ‘Yeah, I feel much more at ease with it now than I did even last year.
‘I really am at peace with myself as a man. I have really tried and that’s all you can do.’
Ranvir replied: ‘When you say you’ve really tried, do you mean with Luke?’
Matt responded: ‘Yeah, we are just trying to create things that are much more… Even coming on here, like you worry about it, but I can’t come here and lie.
‘We’re not talking, and it is what it is and if he doesn’t like it, that’s the way it is. I’ve tried but I have to come in and I’m excited about my own life and I’m excited about what I have done in my life.
‘When you consider it to the point it almost breaks you, that’s wrong. So I am just going to be truthful.
‘I’m not gonna into detail, I’m a very discrete person, but I am going to be truthful with where I stand.’
Ranvir compared his and his brother’s relationship to Liam and Noel Gallagher and mentioned their reconciliation and world tour, to which Matt responded: ‘Never say never.’
When asked if their could possibly be another documentary, he said: ‘I’m very proud of After The Screaming Stops – very proud of it.
‘But, it was just the tip of the iceberg. I feel like there is so much more to say.
‘I would love to make more music with my brother. I would love to go on that journey properly with him and also tour again.
‘He’s the love of my life and I would love to get on stage with him, but I’ve done my best.’
Speaking of his brother, Matt (pictured) told Ranvir: ‘We’re not talking, and it is what it is and if he doesn’t like it, that’s the way it is’

It comes after Matt’s partner Chantal Brown was seen wearing a dazzling diamond ring on her wedding finger last month.
The singer confirmed his relationship with the glamorous jewellery designer in March 2022 and now it appears they could be set to tie the knot.
Matt, who has never wed, has previously said he ‘feels very fortunate’ to have love in his life as he gushed over Chantal – who was previously married to actor Paul Nicholls.
Speaking to The Sun in December 2022 about whether he plans on marrying Chantal, he said: ‘Of course. What’s the point if you don’t see it going all the way? That’s the plan. I’m a romantic.’
Matt’s reps did not deny that the pair were engaged when MailOnline recently approached them for confirmation.
