Brett Favre pays tribute to Randy Moss after spreading false rumors about NFL legend’s mystery condition

Brett Favre has sent a message of support to Randy Moss just hours after he inadvertently shared ‘disgusting’ rumors about the NFL legend’s health condition.

On Tuesday night, Moss’ son was forced to deny an ‘update’ on his father’s health by Larry Fitzgerald Sr., who claimed the Vikings icon has liver cancer.

Moss recently announced he was battling a ‘personal health challenge’ but details of his condition have remained hidden. The Sunday NFL Countdown crew sent an emotional message to their ‘friend and teammate’ as he looks to overcome his medical scare behind the scenes.

But then Fitzgerald Sr., the father of former Cardinals star Larry Jr., started a false rumor on social media about Moss, which was shared by others – including Favre.

The Hall of Fame quarterback posted: ‘Just heard the news that Randy Moss has liver cancer. Prayers to him and his family.’

But after Thaddeus Moss replied to Favre, insisting ‘this is not true’, the former Packers star edited his social media post.

‘Prayers to Randy Moss and his family. Randy is and will always be one of the all time greats to ever run a route,’ Favre posted on X. ‘Definitely on the NFL WR Mt. Rushmore.’

Fitzgerald Sr’s original post sparked fury among fans and Moss’ family.

‘This is disgusting,’ Thaddeus wrote on X. ‘You have no right to try to make private matters public for the sake of engagement. I do not believe my father talks to you, so check your f*****g sources.’

Even Fitzgerald Sr.’s own son later urged him not to ‘speculate’ on Moss’ health.

‘Dad, I think it’s best to respect his privacy on this,’ Larry Jr. wrote. ‘If he feels ready to share more about his health, he will. In the meantime, let’s focus on sending him positive energy, prayers, and support rather than speculating.’

Last week, ESPN announced that Moss, a regular on the network’s Sunday NFL Countdown program, was stepping back to focus on his health.

He wore sunglᴀsses on his final appearance and admitted only that he was ‘battling something internally’.
