I’m A Celebrity is dragged into another fix row after Unpacked host Joel Dommett made a slip up

I’m A Celebrity has been dragged into yet another fix row after fans spotted a clue that some scenes in the reality show may be not be entirely real.

Viewers of the hit ITV show were left furious after noticing a comment from Joel Dommett on the spin off show Unpacked on Sunday.

The show’s host, 39, let slip that at least some of the stars had met up before the show even began.

At the start of the series, the campmates are all supposedly meet for the first time in the Jungle and introduce themselves.

But Joel’s comment left fans wondering if the celebrities were introduced to each other well in advance.

The presenter accidently mentioned that the stars all fly out together as he asked Danny Jones what it felt like to head Down Under all those weeks ago.

Joel said: ‘We were on the plane together, we all were and it was so nice to have you there.

‘And when you were on that flight, just before you went in to the Jungle, did you think you were going to win it?’

Disgruntled viewers took to social media to share their outrage.

One person took to Reddit to share their thoughts, writing: ‘Just caught up on unpacked. Did anyone catch that Joel said they all fly out together…so they’ve all kind of met & probably had a decent amount of time to get to know one another.

‘So why do they all introduce each themselves on the first episode! Lol. I’m sure sometimes they make out like they’re meeting for the first time’.

While another said: ‘Also, when the first people went and met the junkyard campmates they returned to main camp and were asked who they were, saying “it’s Richard and Maura” and everyone just went “ah okay”, not “Richard who? Maura who? What are they both famous for?”.’

Others commented: ‘Like on The Graham Norton Show, where the guests greet each other when the reach the sofa even though they were all together backstage.’

‘I got the feeling it’s only recently i.e. this series.

‘The past series always feels a bit cringe when they meet & greet, as they used to say stuff like “Who are you/What do you do” etc, it’s obvious they don’t know everyone.

‘But this series, I’m fairly certain I heard Barry McGuigan say something like “Oh it’s GK Barry” when they were introduced. As if he would know who she is lmao.’

‘They all seemed to know who each other were, whereas last series we’ve had in the past, we had infamous lines such as “She’s from A Place in the Sun”, “Whereabouts?”‘

But others were more understanding, saying: ‘Presumably they do it for the audience. It would seem strange if they didn’t introduce themselves to each other.’

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.

The revelation comes after fans previously complained that the broadcaster had picked this season’s winner in advance after one camp mate appeared to have been favoured more than the rest.

During one episode, campers were sent to brave a challenge in the Fright Bus, which saw the celebrities being showered with critters while collecting coins to exchange for luxury items.

But despite there being a mixed bag of treats, ranging from apples to golden dress, McFly’s Danny Jones, 38, was given his guitar which featured drawings from his children.

And the seemingly unfair range of gifts did not go unnoticed by fans as they flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.

One penned: ‘Why did all the other camp mates get bits of random rubbish but Danny got a guitar with his sons writing on it seems a bit unfair if you ask me.’

‘Oh Danny is definitely going to win, they’ve given him the guitar and everyone else got weird clothes.’

‘So Maura got an apple and Danny got a guitar? Favouritism right there.’

And it is not just ITV viewers that are convinced he will go on to win the show as Danny’s mother, Kathy, predicted the star will be crowned King Of The Jungle.

And fan predictions proved correct with the singer being crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday before an emotional reunion with his wife Georgia Horsley.
