Jana Kramer opened up about whether or not she would return for the upcoming One Tree Hill reboot.
The actress, 40, shared her thoughts about the possibility of her reprising her role as Alex Dupre for the revival of the beloved 2000s CW series.
In an interview with TooFab published on Thursday, she admitted she spoke to her former co-star Sophia Bush, who is working alongside Hilarie Burton for the reboot show.
This comes shortly after one of their former co-stars said they had no intention of joining the project, which is reportedly currently in development at Netflix.
Previously, they starred alongside Bush and Burton in the drama series for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012.
‘I definitely talked to Sophia about it and it’s one of those things where she’s kind of getting a temperature check on who would come back,’ Kramer told the outlet.

‘But for me, it’s one of those things where I love when shows get rebooted and they bring back old characters because I like to see what they’re up to,’ she continued.
‘I understand if they don’t. I understand why some actors don’t want to come back to a show that’s been done, and they have closed that chapter,’ she added.

‘But for the viewers and the fans, I want to know what they’re up to [and] what they’re doing.’
About what she imagines her character would be up to these days, she said she is interested in figuring it out.
‘I have no clue what she’s up to — Alex, my character,’ Kramer said.
‘I’m excited to see what they do, what direction they take it,’ she said about her former co-stars’ reboot in the works.
As for whether or not she would like to work on the reboot, she said she was open to the possibility.
‘I’ll be happy to jump on board, unless it’s like I strongly disagree where they led her to. I mean, I don’t think they’ll do that,’ she said.

‘I have full faith in Hilarie and Sophia for delivering a show that’s going to be good,’ Kramer added. ‘They’re both very talented and have the best, of the best, people wanting to jump on board.’
Kramer’s comments about the upcoming reboot come shortly after Chad Michael Murray explained why he is not interested in returning to the One Tree Hill universe.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times earlier this month, the Freaky Friday actor, 43, said he spoke to a former co-star about both of them not appearing in the revival.
He said he won’t be reprising his role of Lucas Scott because his former castmates did not ask him.
After he heard that One Tree Hill alums Bush — with whom he was briefly married during his time on the show — and Burton as well as Danneel Ackles were working on the sequel, he said he spoke to James Lafferty, who played his on-screen half-brother Nathan Scott.
‘We’re not doing it because no one’s ever picked up the phone and said, “Hey, we’re doing this,” so we’re not doing it,’ he said.
Murray added that they both agreed that the revival was a good idea, however. ‘I want it for the fans,’ he shared.
