The Chase viewers claimed they ‘switched off’ Monday night’s programme after a contestant’s ‘disgraceful’ move.

Contestants Abi, Greg, Gaynor and Scott all went up against Paul Sinha, also know as the Sinnerman.

But furious fans branded the show ‘a joke’ after the players continued to choose the lower offers – despite Greg answering all the questions correctly. 

Presenter Bradley Walsh even ‘mocked’ the four players as they took their third low offer, admitting you’d ‘only buy a coffee’ with that money. 

After Abi was beaten by Paul in her round, the rest of the team felt the need to play the game safe.

Gaynor and Scott urged Greg to take the lower offer of £2000, which he earned after making it to the final chase.

After Gaynor and Greg made it through to the final rounds, it was Paul’s turn to beat the chaser.

Gaynor insisted Greg take the lower offer, explaining how they needed him to join them in the final chase, which only took the team’s total up to £3200.

Paul admitted: ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve played a team where three of them have gone low but they had a plan.’

Bradley couldn’t help put joke about the trio’s low offer as he quipped: ‘End up with £3,200. Split it up and go buy a coffee.’ 

The trio’s decision sparked outrage from fans watching at home, with several taking to X to air their frustration.

Fans wrote: ‘Oh P*** OFF!!! What is the bloody point? There’s sod all in the pot as it is’,

‘Are ITV deliberately screening out the ones who said they would never go low? This series of #thechase is horses***. You’re seriously testing our patience’,

‘THE CHASE is fast becoming the most boring quiz on T.V with most of the wimpy contestants going for the low offer. Chasers need to start offering minus lower amounts to stop this or the show will die a death through lack of viewers’,

The Sinnerman managed to catch the group out with 24 seconds remaining, after they answered 15 questions correctly.
