Shakira has announced a plan to give away the custom purple Lamborghini she bought in the wake of her public split from Gerard Pique in 2022.

The 48-year-old Colombian singer — who covered GQ magazine in October — took to Instagram days ago to share the giveaway details with her nearly 91 million followers.

It comes as the songstress, who recently dethroned Taylor Swift, has been promoting her latest single, Soltera.

The gifting is in collaboration with Spanish-language television station Univision.

‘This car was a gift to myself as I began my single life, but I realized that what truly matters is human connection,’ said the Hips Don’t Lie singer in a press statement, according to Yahoo.

She continued, ‘The car, the clothes, the material things — they don’t transform us. It’s the people we love and the connections we build that truly make a difference.’

Shakira, full name Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, wrote in a caption to her Instagram fans: ‘What’s promised is owed!’

The note continued, ‘It’s official! I’m gifting my car to someone who would like to have it and enjoy unforgettable moments with the people they love most.’

Adding other details, she said: ‘No purchase necessary. Open to US residents only who are at least 18. Ends: 11/29/24. 

‘The winner will be announced live on Despierta América on December 6. For instructions and Official Rules see elcarrodeshakira.com.’

Those interested in participating are required to upload a video dancing to Soltera via Instagram and TikTok along with the hashtag #ElCarroDeShakira by November 29. 

The mom-of-two — who shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, with her ex — plans to choose five people and incorporate fans by having them choose a final winner on December 5.

The post has so far received more than 1.3 million likes from excited fans and prospective winners. 

Lamborghinis start at $237,848 for an entry-level vehicle, and can go up to $273,880 depending on the model and customization of the car, per Car and Driver.

Shakira’s twelfth studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, was released in March and received a Grammy Best Latin Pop Album nomination.

She and Pique were together for 12 years before their contentious, public-facing breakup in June 2022. 

The split came when the Whenever, Wherever music artist allegedly discovered that her longtime beau was cheating with now-girlfriend Clara Chia. 

In a recent interview with GQ Spain, Shakira detailed how the album helped her cope with the breakup.

‘For many months after my separation I had been silent, trying to begin my mourning, but I couldn’t really begin to grieve until I started writing music,’ she divulged. 

‘It was my way of healing. And it continues to be. Grief is a process that is not linear. It is full of peaks and valleys,’ she added.
