The Cinnamon Girl singer is known for her depressing lyrics, and whilst sonically the record won’t be a ‘bogue lana delheavy departure’ from her Americana sound, she’s teased the lyrics aren’t as dark.
She recently told Vogue: ‘All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like ‘Honeymoon’ which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure.
‘If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production — which again, so many of my songs already are.’
Lana has worked with regular collaborator Jack Antonoff and country music maker Luke Laird on the new tunes.
Speaking at Billboard’s pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles earlier this year, she teased: ‘If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening.
‘That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.’
In an Instagram video, she spilled: ‘Jack’s [Antonoff] in town, I’m going to see him work on some little songs. I’ve had a really beautiful week with [songwriter and producer] Luke Laird.’
The prolific star’s last studio album was 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
Lana recently teamed up with former Migos star Quavo on the track Tough.

The star expressed her desire for a partner that wants a ‘simple’ love and revealed her plans to start to a family.
She said: ‘Most of the people I met wanted Hollywood to be the third part in our relationship. When I get married, it’ll be to someone who, like me, believes that love is enough.
‘I’ll be enough for him, and he’ll be enough for me. Someone to have children with if that happens, or just friends.
‘I want it to be simple, I need to be with someone who wants to plan to stay home with me. Love is to be saved and that’s magic.’
‘I want my whole life, and everything I sing, to be the positive result of something. I believe in magic because, to me, it means being optimistic, having hope, and being able to share it.’
Lana recently broke her silence following her whirlwind wedding.
She said: ‘Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing. And we’re very happy.’
