Coronation Street fans were in for some steamy viewing as Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain finally gave into their feelings. 

The pair, whose chemistry has been building over weeks, took their relationship to the next level after Carla confessed how she felt to her nephew Ryan Connor, who encouraged her to act on it.

Following a night of drinking at the Rovers, Lisa stayed at Carla’s flat, but as she prepared to leave, Carla made a bold move, stopping her with a simple yet suggestive: ‘Don’t.’

Lisa then answered back somewhat confused: ‘Don’t what?’ 

Carla replied: ‘Don’t get dressed.’

She then walked over to her before cupping her face and the two shared a pᴀssionate kiss, leading to a steamy session behind closed doors.

Later, during a conversation on the sofa, Carla admitted it was her first time being with a woman, aside from a few drunken kisses with friends as a teenager to impress boys. 

As the episode played on, the happiness between Carla and Lisa was short-lived as Lisa’s daughter, Betsey, pieced together that the pair had been intimate after noticing Lisa wearing Carla’s top. 

Furious, Betsey lashed out, accusing Lisa of disrespecting her late mother, Becky, by being with someone new on her birthday.

Lisa attempted to defuse the situation, explaining that they hadn’t slept together until the day after Becky’s birthday. 

Despite the clarification, Betsey remained angry, prompting Carla to try to calm things down.

‘I know I didn’t know Becky,’ Carla said, ‘but I’m sure she’d want Lisa to find happiness.’

Betsey, unconvinced, stormed off, declaring that Becky was worth far more than Carla. 

The heated exchange left Lisa questioning whether she had made the right choice in pursuing the relationship.

Later, as Carla and Lisa spoke, Carla labeled her a ‘coward’ when it came to her love life which left the DS fuming.

Insisting Carla hadn’t got a clue, she stormed out, leaving their potential romance in tatters.
