Sam Thompson and Joel Dommett took part in their own eating trial live on I’m A Celebrity Unpacked on Friday night.

Former Jungle King Sam, 32, and host Joel, 39, gagged and even nearly threw up as they each tucked into a witchetty grub.

During the show, Sam presented his co-stars Joel and Kemi Rodgers, 29, with a plate of witchetty grubs and vomit fruit so they could take part in their own eating trial.

But when it came to Sam and Joel, the duo become incredibly teary-eyed as they struggled to swallow it.

While Sam, who appeared on the show last year, and Joel, who finished runner-up in 2016, aren’t knew to the dreaded eating trials, they certainly got a shock.

Host Kemi dramatically spat out the vomit fruit after getting a shock at the smell and taste of it.

The trio attempted their own eating trial as they teased the return of the gruesome eating trial during Sunday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity.

Viewers will see newcomers finally do a challenge as Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles will take part in Terrifying Teddy Bears’ Picnic. 

It comes after fans went wild after Jack Grealish revealed he would ‘love to do’ I’m A Celeb in response to Ant and Dec trying to sign him up for next year.

The England footballer, 29, sent a video message to the excited hosts after they quizzed him about whether he would consider going Down Under.

In a video shared to Ant and Dec’s official X account, Dec quipped: ‘Jack Grealish. What do you think about Jack Grealish for next year?’

‘I think Jack Grealish will be very very good,’ admitted Ant, with Dec responding: ‘I asked Jack Grealish whether he will do the show. I said people had been suggesting him and this is what he said.’

‘Oh my God!,’ replied Ant, as Dec held his phone up to reveal what the football star said.

Donning his Manchester City football kit, Jack said: ‘Hey guys, Jack here. I’ve heard that a few of you guys want to see me in the Jungle. I can’t lie, it is something that I’d absolutely love to do.

‘It’s a show that I’ve watched, you know, for years and years, since I was little. And yeah, a show that I love.

‘I don’t know how I’d get on in there. I don’t think I’d be the best to be honest but yeah, I’d give it a go.’

He clarified: ‘Obviously not this year – I don’t think Pep would be too happy if I ended up in there this year. But you know, never say never, it could happen one day.’

After the clip ended, the I’m A Celeb production team errupted into cheers and Ant shouted: ‘Oh my God! Jack Grealish. We love you Jack.’ 

Also pleased by his response, Dec went on to chant: ‘We love you Grealish, we do. Oh Grealish, we love you.’ 

Thrilled, fans rushed to the comments to write that he would be ‘brilliant to watch’.

They penned: ‘Sign him up for next year’, ‘He’ll be brilliant to watch.’
