This Morning’s Alison Hammond has apologised for being ‘rude’ after she burst into laughter in the middle of Charlotte Church’s live performance.
On Thursdays instalment of the chat show, hosts Alison Hammond, 49, and Dermot O’Leary, 51, were immersed in a sound bath session by Charlotte Church and her husband, Johnathan.
The welsh singer owns well-being centre The Dreaming, in Wales, which offers a range of spiritual retreats, including sound baths.
Explaining the part that sound plays at her centre, the 38-year-old said: ‘One of our pillars is sound and sound healing in all of its forms.
‘Sound affects us on a cellular level and science is really starting to come to terms with the power of sound.’
‘It’s about helping people drop into a deep sense of relaxation and there are so many health benefits around it. In today’s age, it’s very difficult for people to switch off.’

Alison and Dermot laid down whilst Charlotte and her musician husband performed their sound bath, hoping that the often hyperactive hosts would slip into a state of relaxation.
Charlotte’s angelic singing voice paired with a plethora of instruments, including an ocean drum, shamanic rattles and koshi bells, created a breathtaking soundscape.
However, while the frequencies clearly relaxed Dermot, they seemed to tickle Alison as she fought with the corners of her mouth to hide her smirk.
But as the sound bath reached a crescendo, the host could no longer contain herself and burst into fits of laughter.
Apologising for interrupting the meditation, Alison said: ‘I’m so sorry… I feel like I was being rude. What was really throwing me was you singing! It was really making me giggle.’
Charlotte laughed it off as she explained that while not all sound baths include singing, hers include a lot of it.

This Morning viewers took to social media to rejoice in the hilarity of Alison’s reaction.
One said: ‘Sometimes, the more you know that you shouldn’t laugh, the funnier it is. And I agree with Alison, the wailing from Charlotte Church distracted from the relaxing sounds.’
Another wrote: ‘Alison giggling through Charlotte Church’s sound bath warbling and Charlotte clocking her doing it, is the best thing I’ve seen all week.’
‘Alison cracking up at Charlotte Church humming is absolutely sending me,’ a third penned.
This Morning airs from 10am ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
