Nicola Coughlan exuded glamour as she attended TASAKI’s 70th Anniversary Floating Shell exhibition at Selfridges in London on Thursday.
The Derry Girls star, 37, was a vision of beauty in a caped black mini dress with an asymmetric sleeve and fringe detailing that she paired with sheer тιԍнтs and court heels.
She added to the look with TASAKI Atelier Waterfall high jewellery.
Nicola has been the toast of Hollywood this year thanks to her starring role in season three of Bridgerton.
The racy scenes saw her filmed ɴuᴅᴇ alongside co-star Luke Newton, with Nicola hitting back at a pᴀssive-aggressive remark about her weight when she attended a Bridgerton screening.
After an attendee told her during a Q&A session that she was ‘very brave’ for performing in ɴuᴅᴇ scenes on the series’ third season, Coughlan responded with grace and wit.

‘You know, it is hard, ’cause I think women with my body type, women with perfect breasts,’ Nicola said. ‘
We do not get to see ourselves onscreen enough. I am a proud member of the perfect breasts community, and I hope you enjoy seeing them.’
In 2018, Nicola penned a comment piece for The Guardian, detailing the pain of being described as ‘a fat girl’ and ‘overweight little girl’ by a theatre critic in recent years.
She wrote: ‘I’m very lucky to get to use my body to become all these fascinating women. But the prism through which my body is viewed is inescapable.
‘I know I’m not alone; women in my industry are put under constant scrutiny for their looks. It affects male actors as well – I had messages from them – but the vast majority of feedback was from women.
‘Something in our society tells us that women’s bodies are fair game for scrutiny in a way that men’s simply are not.’
Rather than focusing on weight, Nicola has always communicated with her fans the importance of healthy living.
She has credited early morning workouts with keeping her fit and active.

While she revealed the key to her youthful complexion has been drinking plenty of water.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she previously said: ‘Newsflash guys, water’s good for skin! Can’t believe I was the first woman alive to realise the health benefits of water’.
The actress also revealed that she doesn’t splash out on pricey beauty products, getting her skincare from high street store Lush, where she worked as a teenager.
Last month, Nicola slammed people who called her ‘brave as a plus-sized woman’ for baring all in Bridgerton as she graced the cover of TIME magazine.
The Irish actress was named as one of TIME’s Next Generation Leaders with the publication describing her as ‘TV’s breath of fresh air’.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Nicola gushed over the honour as she shared a selection of snaps from a glamorous pH๏τo shoot.
‘So overwhelming, such an honour, thank you @time for having me on your cover (!!!)’ she wrote.
But in her interview for the magazine, Nicola touched on how despite being a few sizes below the female average she is called a ‘plus-sized- heroine’ – and urged fans not to call her ‘brave’ for getting naked on screen.

‘Don’t call me brave,’ she said. ‘I have a cracking pair of boobs – there’s nothing brave about that, that’s actually just me showing them off.’
Nicola criticised the emphasis placed on her size and shape and asked: ‘What if I was suddenly going to play a ballerina and lose a s**t ton of weight, are you not going to like me anymore?’
‘That’s insane and so insulting,’ she added.
Nicola went on to say that she did not enjoy how fans focused so much on what she looked like during the promotion for the latest season of the Netflix series, calling the comments ‘reductive and boring’.
