Jameis Winston delivers all-time interview before Browns’ ‘TNF’ game

Jameis Winston was really ready to play football on Thursday.

Actually, he might have been ready for “battle.”

Whatever the case might be, the Browns quarterback was excited to take on the Steelers, and he made that clear in a one-of-a-kind interview with Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung on the field before the proceedings.

When asked about what it would take to beat the rival Steelers, Winston was ready to go with his answer.

“The horse is preparing for battle, but victory comes from the Lord. So I’m dependent on the Lord,” he said before his Browns (3-8) scored a 24-19 upset win over the Steelers (8-3).

When asked in a follow-up if that was the message to the team, Winston replied: “Day by day, one play at a time, that’s the message.”

But when asked how he would be affected by playing in winter-like conditions with winds howling, light snow falling and temperatures dipping near the freezing mark, Winston grinned wide before giving his enthusiastic answer.

“I am so happy and grateful that the lord has blessed me to play in some snow,” the quarterback said. “To be in true football weather, in Cleveland, Ohio at Huntington Bank Field today — to get him the glory. It’s a beautiful day.”

The game was history of sorts for Winston, who has never played in a game that was 40 degrees or colder at kickoff time, per NFL Network.
