Michael Carlton ‘Cal’ Boyington, a talent agent and reality TV producer who was involved with The Osbournes, has died at the age of 53.
Boyington was found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Monday at his San Pedro, California home, Variety reported.
His brother B.G. Dickey told ᴅᴇᴀᴅline that Boyington’s cause of death had not yet been determined.
Boyington past worked at ICM Partners as an unscripted agent, and Paradigm Talent Agency as a head of alternative programming, before creating his own organization Vital Artists Agency four years ago.
Among the notable projects he worked on was The Osbournes, the MTV hit that aired from 2002-2005, as he ᴀssisted in packaging the hit show, Variety reported.
The influential series centered around rock staple Ozzy Osbourne and made household names of his wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack.

The success of The Osbournes led to other reality shows centered around celebrity subjects, such as Hogan Knows Best, Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Rock of Love with Bret Michaels.
Other notable shows he worked on, in the capacity of executive producer, included the VH1 series Cabo, Workaholics on Comedy Central, Baker Boys: Inside the Surge on HDNet and Hulu’s R5 Sons Alaska, according to the outlet.

Boyington’s work as a producer in Tinseltown included stints at Manolin Entertainment, and subsequently Rebel Entertainment Partners, that spanned around four years apiece, according to Variety.
In 2020, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, he and Rebel Entertainment colleagues Phil Irven and April Yuan opened Vital Artists Agency.
The professional partnership that lasted until Irven and Yuan departed the company last year, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline.
Vital Artists Agency told the outlet in April of 2023 ‘the split was amicable and that all parties herein remain solely focused on their clients and the bright future ahead.’
Among the agency’s clients include actress Valerie Chow and producers Moira Noriega and Vivian Payton, ᴅᴇᴀᴅline reported.
VAA also represented production companies such as Dola Media, Empty Quarter Studios and Sunwise Media.

Boyington was born in Kansas City, Missouri and brought up in Vail, Colorado, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline.
He went to Battle Mountain High School and Colorado State University in Fort Collins before heading to Los Angeles to work in show business.
Boyington was ‘known for his boundless energy, magnetic personality, and zest for life,’ according to an obituary reviewed by Variety.
‘Cal was truly the life of every party,’ read the obit. ‘He possessed an extraordinary ability to light up a room and bring joy to everyone he met. Those who knew Cal would attest to his unwavering pᴀssion for living each day to its fullest.’
Boyington is survived by parents Mike Boyington and Travis ‘Penny’ Farrar, and sibling B.G. Dickey.
