🦿💗 SHE’S ONLY 9 — BUT ZOEY CLEGHORN IS ALREADY LOOKING TOWARD A BRIGHTER TOMORROW
Tomorrow can’t come soon enough for 9-year-old Zoey Cleghorn.
After months of treatment and a life-changing operation, she has something new to look forward to.
She’s getting fitted for her prosthetic — and she couldn’t be more excited. 🥹🦿
For Zoey, the appointment represents far more than a medical milestone. It is another step toward the future she is determined to reclaim.
The young girl from Addison, Alabama, was diagnosed months ago after doctors discovered a concerning spot on her right femur. Further testing revealed osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.
Her diagnosis changed life for Zoey and her parents, Bobby and Amy Cleghorn.
Doctors performed a rotationplasty, a complex procedure that involved removing a significant portion of her leg while preserving function that can allow her to use a prosthesis.
The road since then has been difficult, but Zoey has continued to show remarkable strength.
Her mother recently shared an encouraging update, explaining that Zoey is doing well and has five more chemotherapy treatments remaining.
The family is also looking ahead to November 5, when Zoey is scheduled for scans to check for any further growth.
There is reason for hope.
Her most recent scans were clear, and now the family is praying for the same result at the next appointment. 🙏💗
But perhaps the most uplifting part of Amy’s update was Zoey’s excitement about what comes next.
On Monday, she will be fitted for her prosthetic.
And Zoey is ready.
Despite everything she has been through, the 9-year-old is thinking about school, friends and the life she wants to return to. She has already visited her school twice, where friends were thrilled to see her.
They miss her.
And Zoey misses them just as much. 🎒🥰
The family hopes she can return to school permanently in January.
For her parents, the journey has naturally brought fear and uncertainty. But it has also revealed just how resilient their daughter can be.
Zoey is facing some of the same challenges that another young Alabama child, Will Roberts, once faced. Will pᴀssed away last month, leaving behind memories of a courageous fight that inspired countless people.
Now Zoey is carrying that same spirit forward.
She may be concerned about what lies ahead, but she is not allowing fear to define her future.
Instead, she is excited about what tomorrow might bring.
A prosthetic.
A return to school.
More time with friends.
More reasons to smile. ❤️
Her mother’s message ended with words that capture the family’s faith and hope:
“Praise Jesus for His miracles.” 🙏
Zoey still has treatments ahead and more scans to face, but today she is choosing optimism.
And sometimes, that glᴀss-half-full atтιтude is exactly what the world needs to see.
Keep Zoey in your thoughts and prayers — and help share the hope, courage and positivity of this remarkable little girl. 💗🦿🌟
